Miss Pretty Kitty - Close Up

This is Miss Pretty Kitty. ♥ Her hobby's are reading, enjoying nature and playing with her dolls and temari ball. Right now she is enjoying the Japanese holiday of Hinamatsuri (雛祭り) with her hina dolls.

She was made as a Christmas gift for my Mom and I finally got around to taking pics of her. She is my best kitty bunka to date and by far my favorite for so many reasons. She measures in at around 13 inches, the biggest kitty bunka I've made. For her I used a new kind of fabric covering for her face, chiffon georgette, and love it so much more than the double georgette I had been using. It handles beautifully and is able to be smoothed so much easier than the other. I also like the fact that the painting is smoother, with the double georgette the brush tended to want to snag the fabric.

Her clothes are made entirely from vintage kimono panels, and I hand appliqued the sakura blossom on her dress to bring out the pink cranes that are in her bloomers and neck collar. (She also has pink highlights in her eyes.) You can't see it well, but the fabric for her bloomers and neck collar have a beautiful pink and purple flying crane pattern. It's so soft too! ♥ *w* She has a purpley blue crystal heart on her neck that matches her purple eyes as well as the purple cranes.

I just adore the colors of her dress, blue and green are my fav colors. ♪ The fabric was a bit stiff to sew through by hand but I managed it. ^__^ The fabric used for her dress had a pretty box pattern on it that I tried to center slightly to the left so the sakura blossom wouldn't cover it, I wanted both to show well. I then added some beautiful iridescent and metallic green glass beads along the bottom of her dress and gave her a bracelet to match. She also has a pearl and pink crystal bracelet above the green one. ♪ Her earrings are painted glass beads and her ribbon is vintage lace. ♥

Random but I also made the temari ball she's playing with.~ ^__~
